Africa Day

"the beauty of Africa"
May 25 is Africa Liberation Day. On this day many African countries celebrate the hard-fought achievement of their freedom from the European colonial powers. The aim of the celebration is to celebrate African diversity and success and to highlight the cultural and economical potential that exist on the African continent.

In the past years, Africa has been marked by the controversial evidence of rising wealth inequality, deterioration of public finances and stagnating growth of the Western economies.  Despite all the negative implications Africa has so much more to celebrate. However, what is there to celebrate if the western countries have still engulfed Africa in civilised slave trade in the name globalisation and capitalism. We are still slaves in our own land. Its a pity that Africa is the richest continent but it has the poorest rate.

"King of Swaziland"
Subsequently. there is so much more to celebrate in Africa. As long as we still have our culture, and traditions, as long as we can still identify ourselves, there is so much more to look forward to. Africa has a great future ahead.

Long Live the King (last absolute monarch in Africa);
Long live Africa ( my land of natural beauty).

Try a clinche

"being thankful"
Clinches are simple unoriginal ideas.  Some of the unoriginal ideas include being "thankful.' Even though these are not the best times for many of us, there is still much more to be thankful for. All it takes is a change of perspective.

Indeed, more money and more material stuff won't make you happy. Neither will more recognition, more University degrees and more awards. After all its wonderful to be recognised for something good that you did,but all is temporary. they will fill a temporary gap, and once the excitement of the moment is gone, you have to go back to square one.

On the other hand, being grateful for the things that you have and for who you are now, will create a snowball of positive and grateful energy that will bring you much material and non-material wealth in future.  This does not mean you can not have dream and goals. you can still have it all of that, but you will only get all of that if only you are thankful now. Trying a little clinch wont hurt you but will encourage more positiveness from you.

Feelings follow behaviour

Add caption
It is true that sometimes you can act your way into feelings. for Example; going into a party you felt like not attending, only to realise that it was all that you needed to bring smiles into your face.

We cannot run from this two. they run together, like the saliva and the tongue. Where the behaviour is inappropriate also the feelings will be congruent (probably aggressive). However, a person may appear aggressive to you at some time but that may be probable because you are there. Just because a person is aggressive at you sometimes doesn't mean that their feelings have changed. A person can still have soft feelings with you while being aggressive simultaneously. Feelings do not follow behaviour always.

It is true that to predict someones behaviour is to know their feelings. A baby cries a lot when he or she is hungry.

It is better to practice a little than talk a lot

"shhhh"
Wise people talk less and and practice more while foolish people talk too much and practice less. Wise people talk because they have something to say, share an idea but foolish people talk because they have to say something. they do not think before talking , they just talk and talk and talk. they are like empty drums, they make lot of noise.

It is also not always that people who talk less are wise, some talk less because they are shy. However some do not believe in talking but actions. Some who do not talk much but listern to other people, probably has experience, knowledge and good judgement. On the other hand people who talk too much always bring shame to themselves. For example; when people talk too much they results talking about other people behind their back and when that person find out they wish they were never born.

The wise know that talk is cheap therefore they know that the secreat of winning is to take action.  Indeed an individual can talk a lot but a winner is always the one who practice a little than talking a lot.

Exam time

"Exam stress"

As many of you are aware, whether it be due to a deteriorating social life or a stack of half open, dribbled-on textbooks slowly corrupting every available surface in your bedroom, the exam season is well and truly upon us. Having considered all of the seasons that I could think of, I have come to the conclusion that exam season is probably my least favourite of all. It's long, it's stressful, and it turns fairly normal citizens into strange, page-number quoting lunatics. Kissing revision notes? Crying in the middle of the night? We've all been there. And it's pretty soul destroying.

I cannot beat around the bush. I am by no means the wisest owl in the treetops when it comes to dishing out exam advice. I am, after all, the same man that mind his business. During my first year in varsity my dear friend Nkosiyapha was so utterly horrified by my inability to digest even the simplest point of a year's worth of study, that I'm pretty sure he called me an 'absolute f*cking moron'. I'm pretty sure he was right. Woops. As if this isn't enough to have on my conscience, I am also the same man that woke up in a wild panic about an exam I was sitting that morning, only to realise that I was late. The whole exam late. Double woops and bugger.

Somehow, however, it hasn't all been a hideous mess of awkwardness, and I have managed to sit me some exams and achieve the occasional good grade here and there. And where I haven't, I've learnt a good few lessons. So here is my advice: you fail to plan, you plan to fail. There is no luck in the exam room, but to apply what you have studied.

My Long-term Thinking

There are lot of people in my life who do not understand my long- term thinking. I am sure many of my decisions look very dump if you only project a month or a year ahead. I have hared more than one person talk about me "Mlandvo is either really smart or really dump." one between the two. The reality is simple that I have a long time projection.
"the power of the mind"

However,short-term thinking dominates this planet. A person like me who embraces revolutional risk and thinks decades ahead doesn't fit in very well. Therefore, it is one of the reasons it is so important for me to install good habits. In short-term, its a struggle, often a painful one.

The universe could turn against me, and it wouldn't make me want to give up. It would probably just inflame me more. I never get discouraged because I believe my approach to life will produce some amazing results in the long run. It is only a matter of time.  It is really amazing how much long term difference just a small change you make today can make. Just little more self discipline, a little more courage, a little more persistence, and a little more enthusiasm. These can produce huge returns in the long run.
What keeps me from getting discouraged when my failures out number my successes is to keep thinking long-term. I often must endure a lot of failures to hit the next big breakthrough. So I just plow through those failures as fast as possible. It is like a conveyor belt, there is always a new success on that belt somewhere ahead, and the faster the belt moves, the sooner it will arrive.

A wedding cake in the middle of the road

"Calculated risk"

A weeding cake can be a reward and in the middle of the road can mean taking risks before archiving that reward. For example: Bill gates had to drop from the University to start his business so to be the world's top dog.

The question that always arises when the cake is in the middle of the road is "how to get through the traffic unharmed?" The answer is obvious, you have to take a well calculated risk. To others the word risk has a high negative connotation to it, it implies danger, tension, and possible loss. But risks also has a positive side, the chance of hitting a wedding cake (a massive win). All risks are not equal, however. Some are just plain dump and you should never take them no matter what the price may be. But even on those cases there is usually some emotional benefit.

Trying to get a cake in the middle of the road is indeed scary. It is uncertain and unpredictable. You may loose your life or lose face. You risk criticism and humiliation or having to pick up the peaces and start all over again. You give up what you know for what might be. The rewards can be great, but so can the costs. After all a well calculated risks brings great rewards a weeding cake.

Be lead by your dreams

Do not be punished my your problems. Be lead by your dreams. Live the life you want to live and be the person you want to remember years after now. Make decisions and act on them. Make mistakes, fall and try again, even if you fall a thousand times, at least you will not have to wonder what it could have been. At least you will know in your heart that you gave your dreams your best shot ever.

Each of us has a fire in our heart burning for something. Its our responsibility in life to find it and keep it burning. We all have one life and it is a very short one. Live it to the fullest. Do not let others extinguish the flame. Try what you want, what you have been longing for. Go where you want to go. Follow your intuition. Dream with your eyes open until you know what your dream looks like. Then try to work towards it.

However, as you strive to achieve your goals, you will encounter substantial disappointments along the way. Do not get discouraged, the road to your dreams may not be an easy one. Take the disappointments as challenges, test for persistence and courage. At the end of the road we regret more often what we did not do far more than what we did. Keep your focus on the crystal ball, make your dreams come true.
